On 5th and 6th March 2008 in Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital in Stanford Malwina's examinations (heart echo and catherization) were conducted, and they unfortunately showed very poor growth of the left lung of our daughter. Prof. Hanley has decided on conducting an operation first of the left side to save the lung on that side and to cause its even the minimal growth. That is very hard and dramatic information for us; it is also so hard to accept. At the moment Malwina is waiting for the detailed treatment plan with her legal guardians in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. We would like to THANK YOU all most sincerely. You are great supporters for us in those hardest moments. Despite the bad results and unwelcome news we still believe that Malwina will enjoy a joyful life.
The students from Senior High School no. 3 in Katowice decided to help Malwina and they organized the action 'Valentine for Malwina'. For all the young people engaged in that action it was a real lesson of love.

This month Malwina will be six months old, so the best time to perform the operation is passing. Because of that we asked prof. Hanley if it would be possible to operate Malwina later, after her six month of age. We received the reply that there are children that remain ideal candidates for an operation of early unifocalization even at the age of 10 months. If Malwina's condition isn't getting worse, we have to focus on raising funds and to come to Stanford. The condition of performing the operation is paying the whole amount 10 days before. After receiving that information we can not cease our activity and we have the strong motivation to work even harder. And to all that help us, support us and make us believe in the sense of what we are doing – THANK YOU.

Today we received prof. Frank L. Hanley's M.D. from Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital in Stanford reply qualifying our daughter for the operation. Prof. Frank L. Hanley M.D. after analysing the whole medical record stated that the best chance for Malwina's normal functioning is performing a very complicated operational procedure in Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital in Stanford, that has the most considerable experience of the treatment of this kind of heart disease in the one-stage complete unifocalization early in life (up to 6 months of age).
