Malwina was born with severe congenital heart disease – Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia and major aortopulmonary collaterals. This failure doesn't let our daughter's proper growth, development and normal functioning. From her birth in Polish Mother's Memorial Research Institute in Łódź Malwinka was consulted by the most of the leading cardiac and cardiosurgical centres in Poland. The only possiblity for Malwina's normal life is conducting the unifocalization. That operation is performed in stages in Poland, while in the United States it is done as one stage early (up to 6 months) complete unifocalization. The early surgery is due to prevent many possible endocardiac complications, but also the development of the pulmonary hipertension. Prof. Frank L. Hanley from the Stanford University has got the greatest experience in the world in treatment of that particular heart disease. He has operated on more then 340 children with that disease and 20% (more then 60 children) did not have pulmonary arteries at all.

Malwinka has got extremely severe type of that heart disease and that is why we want to operate her in the United States. However the cost of that operation is 500 thousand dollars.

This web site was created to show how enormously grateful we are to all people who have been helping us. The other reason to do it was to help other parents of children with similar heart disease.

We still believe that it would turn out possible to go to the United States and perform the necessary operation.
